Sanderson Ford Giraffe Jam Family Fun Run

Lace up your running shoes and get ready to run (or walk) on the wild side! The 2026 Sanderson Ford Giraffe Jam Family Fun Run returns to Wildlife World Zoo on Saturday, October 24, giving families, runners, walkers and wildlife lovers the chance to have fun locally while supporting conservation globally.

This unique “almost a 5K” takes participants through the zoo before it opens to the public for the day. It’s a fun way to get moving, enjoy the zoo in the cool morning hours and, most importantly, help protect one of Africa’s most iconic animals.

100% of the proceeds from Giraffe Jam will be donated to Save Giraffes Now, an organization dedicated to saving giraffes from extinction so they can live freely and safely in the woodlands and savannas of their native Africa. Giraffes need our help. Giraffe populations have declined by approximately 40% over the last three decades, and 50% or more of giraffe calves may not survive to adulthood. Today, there are approximately four times as many elephants in Africa as giraffes, while an estimated 3.8 million square miles of historic giraffe habitat has been lost. That’s an area roughly the size of the United States.
