Maymont is a 100-acre green space in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. We welcome everyone to explore our curated gardens, grand arboretum, Gilded Age mansion, immersive nature center, interactive farm and Virginia Wildlife Trail.

Maymont is a 100-acre historic estate and park with many unique experiences for all to enjoy. Stroll through the gardens and arboretum, see native wildlife habitats, feed friendly goats, explore The Robins Nature Center and visit the Mansion.

Friendly farm animals are the big draw at the Maymont Farm, a popular destination for families and animal lovers. The area offers hands-on animal encounters and insight into farm life where children and adults alike are delighted by the crow of a rooster, the feel of a sheep’s wool and the nudge of a hungry goat. Look for feed machines on-site to purchase treats for your furry pals.

Byrd Park

North Bank Park is located at the south end of Texas Avenue, about five blocks east of the Hampton Street entrance to Maymont. The park is known to many as Texas Beach. A long, singletrack trail leads to many isolated sandy beaches and sunbathing rocks. The park is very popular with dog-walkers, but is also great for biking, hiking, and snorkeling.

Mount Calvary Cemetery was founded as a non-profit cemetery circa 1880 by the Catholic Diocese of Richmond to supplement grave spaces in the other Catholic Cemetery (Holy Cross) which was too small to accommodate the growing Catholic population in Richmond. The Diocese incorporated a Board of Trustees to manage the cemetery and, although many personnel changes have occurred, the Board still manages the cemetery today. Mount Calvary Cemetery welcomes members of all faiths and ethnic origins to fulfill their perpetual care needs in one of Richmond’s most hallowed grounds. Mount Calvary accommodates approximately 30,000 deceased loved ones from the Richmond community and beyond. The cemetery still operates as a private, non-profit organization. The cemetery owns approximately 90 acres of which 30 acres is set aside for future development which means we will be here to accommodate Richmond families for many decades to come.

Located in Byrd Park in downtown Richmond, Barker Field is the perfect place to bring your best friend for a day of fun and socializing with other dogs.

Riverview Cemetery (or River View) was initiated by the city of Richmond in 1887 with the purchase of fifty-three acres immediately west of Hollywood Cemetery on the James River.

Jardin is a Richmond wine joint run by Richmond wine people. While some of what fills our shelves will age gracefully, we don't sell collectables or investment bottles, we sell wine to drink now. We're happy to get somm-nerdy with you if you'd like, but you don't need to know anything about wine to enjoy our shop, bar, or garden. Jardin is a wine joint for the people. Stop by and enjoy a bottle, or three, of wine with us — or take a few home for later.

Paper Tiger

This park is named for a local leader who worked to renew the neighborhood. Its features include a playground and basketball courts, adjacent to the Randolph Community Center. Jogging/exercise trail, an informational tree walk, open space, swimming pool [summer only] and more.

Cask Café

We’re a community of runners, hikers, bikers and ballplayers. We’re an outdoor playground, designed by Mother Nature, with class III and IV rapids running right through our downtown. A 52-mile bike trail runs along the James. The Richmond Marathon and Ukrop’s 10k are huge celebrations, and the whole region comes out to cheer on our local teams. In fact, we’re so sports-minded that the Washington Redskins have their training camp right in the center of the city. Add to that awesome hotels, beautiful venues, attractions, art, craft beer, more than 900 restaurants and a convenient location, and you’ve got a top choice for your next sports event.
