Home to the Woman’s Club since 1900, the Italianate-style Bolling Haxall House was built in 1858 for Bolling Walker Haxall, heir to a flour-milling fortune. It is listed as a Virginia Historic Landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The house often hosts weddings, special events, business meetings, and musical and theater performances.

The eats include a full smoked fish selection, soups and salads, breakfast, eastern european inspired dinners, a deli section with specialties such as pastrami and tongue, a cocktail selection and wine on tap. A 70-room boutique historic hotel located in the heart of downtown Richmond. The hotel is comprised of seven row houses built in the 1860s and meticulously restored over the years. The hotel's guest rooms are furnished with antiques from the middle and late 1800s and the hotel is proud to be on the National Register of Historic Places. Garden secret: Edgar Allan Poe spent his childhood playing in the garden that is now the hotel's courtyard. Legend has it that the hotel is home to the enchanted garden that Poe mentions in his famous poem "To Helen."
