Sapphire Spa

This 30,000-square-foot public skatepark, located on the grounds of Veterans Memorial Park, is the perfect place for new and experienced skaters.

The skatepark was visited and skated by Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald, Alex Sorgente and Tony Magnusson during the grand opening, and is open to the public.

Hawk said (of the park), "I thought it was great. It's got a good variety of street, and transition. It didn't feel small either." He then went on to say, "This is exactly the kind of project we want to be involved in, where people have persevered to make it happen. Sometimes it can be even longer. The funny thing is that once the city sees how much use it will get they will want to build more. This will get more use than any other facility in town."

Sun & Snow’s Midwest Swap Tour returns to Ann Arbor November 21-22, 2026.   
  
This free, public ski and snowboard swap brings together skiers and snowboarders from across Southeast Michigan to buy and sell skis, snowboards, boots, bindings and junior equipment.  
  
Experienced Sun & Snow ski and snowboard staff will be on site to help with sizing, fit and equipment selection. Sellers set their own price and keep 75% when an item sells.  
  
Selling gear? Qualifying equipment can be dropped off at either Sun & Snow location through 6 PM Thursday, November 19. Unsold gear can continue on to the remaining Midwest Swap Tour stops for additional chances to sell.  
  
Walk-ins are always welcome. Optional QuickPass opens at 9 AM Wednesday, November 18.
