In Ariadne auf Naxos, we experience how a marriage of convenience between high-brow opera and low-brow comedy can succeed. Invention triumphs and harmony prevails. The second half features works by Louise Farrenc and Manuel de Falla, and faculty guest artist Jeff Anderle, solo bass clarinet, on Michael Torke's "October," in a new version commissioned by ASU Orchestras.
