Located in downtown Chelsea, the store is a convenient stop as you head to a local trail (DTE Energy Foundation Trail, Border-to-Border Trail, the Waterloo and Pinckney Recreation Areas) or prepare for any adventure across the globe (recent customers were preparing for Isle Royale, Camino de Santiago, and hiking out west). The store carries quality gear from Osprey, Marmot, Stormy Kromer, Darn Tough, Rumpl, and more. In addition, you could snag some quality used and vintage apparel not available online, or use the makerspace to repair anything you already own. You can also fill up your bulk soaps, find sustainable solutions for around the house and bath, or discover new crafts. Something for everyone, the knowledgeable owners will help you navigate!

With scenic views and a rural setting, West Lake Preserve is one of NAPP's most tranquil properties. Trails take you through a wide range of ecosystems, such as upland forests, wetlands, open water shorelines, and open fields.

Bring your binoculars-the diversity of habitats attracts numerous types of birds, including sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, belted kingfishers, and eastern bluebirds, a bald eagle has even been spotted several times!

The forested area of West Lake Preserve consists of mature oak and hickory trees with some portions having sandy soil dry enough for blueberry bushes and bracken fern to grow. Other portions of the property are very wet. A buttonbush swamp provides protection for young reptiles and various amphibians as they mature.
