Special Touch Bakery is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to provide training and employment in the community to people of all abilities. Proceeds from Special Touch Bakery benefit Holy Childhood, a non-profit, non-denominational agency. The Union Tavern, formerly the Reunion Inn, is located in the beautiful historic Sea Breeze neighborhood. Remain Present is a collection of original work by American artist Nicholas Roes that considers the traces of gesture as evidence of the artist’s presence. Each work carries traces of its making through movement, texture and the accumulation of material. At a moment when images can be generated, reproduced and circulated with increasing ease, Remain Present returns attention to emphasize painting as a physical encounter between artist and material.
