The spaces are available after Museum hours, on weekday and weekend evenings. Founded in 1923 at the University of Michigan, the William L. Clements Library holds collections of print and manuscript materials on the history of North America and the Caribbean from the pre- Colonial period in to the 20th century. Our mission is to make primary sources available for research, and to support and encourage scholarly investigation of our nation’s past. The Clements Library showcases its collections with regular exhibits presented in the Avenir Reading Room. Exhibits are free and open to the public on Fridays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and by special arrangement.

Since 1928, the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology has explored the links between past and present through its collections, research, exhibitions, and fieldwork. The Kelsey supports teaching and research in Mediterranean, North African, and Middle Eastern archaeology.

The museum houses more than 150,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years of human history. Each year, the Kelsey brings the ancient world to life for thousands of students and community members through interactive tours, public lectures by world-class scholars, and special exhibitions.

The Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library is the University of Michigan's primary research collection for the humanities and social sciences. Located on the Diag at the heart of central campus, the library is open to everyone.
