"Tough but Fair" Book Discussion with Author Winston Satran

From 1972–1986, Winston Satran served as deputy warden and warden of the ND State Penitentiary. When he started, the prison was in disarray and on the verge of falling into chaos due to inadequate funding and staffing. The facility suffered from improper discipline, assaults on staff, decaying infrastructure, and broken utilities. Join us as Satran leads a four-session discussion on his book, "Tough but Fair." He will elaborate on his triumphs and challenges in instituting thriving new programs for prisoners, building respect for staff, and regaining control of the inmate population.
