The fourth annual Christkindl Market returns to downtown Grand Rapids for 28 days of holiday cheer!

This authentic European-inspired outdoor Christmas village is lined with 60+ artisan food and gift vendors, holiday entertainment and festive family fun. It’s a winter wonderland filled with unique Christmas experiences illuminated with international flair, twinkling lights and yuletide magic.

Shopping

You’ll find something for everyone on your gift list at the Christkindl Markt. Local artisans and vendors offers a wide array of domestic and imported items, from made-in-Grand Rapids art, jewelry and packaged foods to Polish pottery, Turkish towels and Ukrainian wooden puzzles.

Dining

Come hungry – 17 ready-to-eat food booths are serving an international smorgasbord of sweet and savory goodies. Enjoy Alpine-style melted raclette, German-style brats, Bavarian pretzels, Belgian waffles, Italian porchetta sandwiches, Polish pierogies, Grand Rapids donuts and much, much more as you stroll the Christkindl Markt.

Drinking

The Christkindl Markt is overflowing with traditional holiday beverage options – including beer, bubbles, eggnog, hot cocoa and glühwein, a hot, spiced mulled wine popular in Germany and Austria. You can order your beverage in commemorative glassware – there are four pieces available this year – and bring it back on return visits for refill pricing all season long. You’ll also enjoy refill pricing with commemorative glassware you purchased from previous years!

Alpenglobes

Gather your friends, family or co-workers for a magical holiday get-together in a private Alpenglobe. These enclosed and heated ‘globes are surrounded by panoramic Christmas market views – and you can pre-order food from Christkindl Markt and Grand Rapids Downtown Market vendors for delivery to your table. Each ‘globe accommodates up to 8 people for a 3-hour experience, which costs $450. Reservations are required – click here to book.

Curling

Slide into the holiday season with a classic cold-weather activity at the Christkindl Markt. Groups of eight or fewer people can reserve a 38-foot synthetic “ice” curling sheet and eight curling stones, and take turns sliding the stones toward a target known as a “house.” There are four curling sheets available, located on the Downtown Market’s second floor outdoor terrace overlooking the Christmas village. Cost is $125 for an hour of play. Reservations are required – click here to book.

Parking

Extremely limited on-site parking is available in the Grand Rapids Downtown Market lot, accessible by gates on Ionia Ave. and Logan St. Handicap accessible parking spots are designated on the southeast side of the lot. Credit card only.

The McConnell city parking lot directly across Ionia Ave. offers two levels of parking adjacent to the Market. $1 per hour, $10 max.

Metered and non-metered parking is available on streets around the Market. Meters are enforced Monday-Friday.
