2026 Spartan Tartan Highland Dance Competition

The 2026 Spartan Tartan Highland Dance Competition returns to Lansing for a powerful, one-day celebration of strength, tradition, and Scottish pride! Hosted by the Gibson School of Highland Dance, this high-energy event features more than 100 competitors—from tiny tots (age 3!) to adults—competing in the legendary Highland Fling, Sword Dance, and Jig.

Rooted in the historic “dance of warriors,” Highland dance showcases incredible agility, precision, and athleticism, while younger dancers build confidence and coordination along the way. With categories ranging from Beginner to Premier, the competition highlights dedication at every level.

Dressed in vibrant kilts and tartan, dancers bring cultural heritage to life in a display of skill, pageantry, and Spartan spirit you won’t want to miss!
