Sports Academy - Experience how World-Class Athletes and Coaches train & play!

An incredible opportunity for you to participate in an international sports academy development weekend as a participant, volunteer, or sponsor. Netball America®, the largest Netball association in the USA, is hosting a sports coach and athlete development opportunity that will elevate the sporting experience and performance of athletes, umpires and coaches, regardless of sporting code, ability levels and suited for all ages. This is your opportunity to receive training from world champion professional athletes and coaches! For teachers and students, you'll also get to learn the globally popular Olympic sport of Netball.

Come and participate in interactive sessions to help you show up competition day mentally and physically prepared, learn world class dynamic warmups, tips and tricks on spatial awareness, body control and ball skills and drills.

Participants will learn from an all-star lineup of presenters, including a World Series Baseball Champion – Brian Anderson, the G.O.A.T. of Netball (original women’s basketball) – Gretel Bueta, a former Division 1 athlete and doctor in sport social work – Dr Marlene Holmes, as well as international rugby and soccer stars. The event also welcomes volunteers and sponsors who want to get behind women in sports. All participants have the option to receive a FREE fitness and agility assessment using an amazing AI tool provided by Vitoria Sports and TalentLockr who have been helping develop athletes across the world.

You’ll get to select a variety of workshops based on the topics you are interested in. From experiencing a physical fitness AI, to exploring decision making under pressure and preparing for game day to participating in world-class dynamic warmups and skill sessions with a focus on hand/eye coordination, body control and learning world class driving strategies to get free in a space.

This event is also a fundraiser to help us provide opportunities for minority girls and teachers to attend these events. This event will kick off at 11:30am on Saturday August 23, 2025, with a welcome lunch and will finish at 11:30am Sunday August 24,2025.
