2026 North Dakota State Spelling Bee

Welcome to the North Dakota Spelling Bee Micro-Site!

The 2026 North Dakota State Spelling Bee will take place on March 23rd, 2026, at the Bismarck Event Center.

This event is a significant competition for students through the 8th grade from across the state, with participants advancing from classroom to school and county levels. The North Dakota State Spelling Bee program is open to students from public schools, private schools, and homeschools, and requires enrollment with the North Dakota Association of County Superintendents as well as Scripps National Spelling Bee.

The North Dakota Spelling Bee is made possible thanks to the North Dakota Association of County Superintendents (NDACS), the official regional partner of Scripps National Spelling Bee. Together they provide a program that features three competitive levels: school, county, and state. Students start by competing within their schools, then advance to county contests with the top spellers from across the state competing at the State Spelling Bee in Bismarck.
