The second annual Bangor Region YMCA Breakaway Swim, and the first to be held at the beautiful Camp Jordan, will take place on August 22, 2026.  The Breakaway Swim aims to provide both first-time open-water swimmers and seasoned competitors an invigorating challenge.  Participants can choose between the fast-paced, 500-meter race, or the 1-mile test of endurance.  Both races offer an incredible experience – bringing together friendly competition, supportive energy, and the natural beauty of pristine Branch Lake.  Both races will begin on shore, as a mass start, with competitors swimming around designated buoys.  Both races will also finish on shore, with the order of finish determining male and female winners for each age group.  We hope that many will join us to make a splash at this summer’s Breakaway Swim at Camp Jordan.
