About Topwater Legue Series - Alpena

Topwater was founded in 2018 by Mike Anderson and Kyle Van Leuven, two brothers-in-law who wanted to bring together a community of fishermen for a series of kayak bass fishing tournaments. Since its inception, Topwater has rapidly expanded and now hosts over 150 events across multiple states and Canada. The Topwater Series includes The League Series, a weekly divisional competition featuring 10 events and an annual Angler of the Year race, The Road Warrior Challenge, which rewards anglers for fishing at various locations, and The World Series of Fishing. Additionally, a Championship event is in the works. Topwater is open to the public and welcomes anglers of all skill levels, including youth and high school students. The goal of Topwater is to provide a welcoming environment for fishermen to make new friends, learn, and have a good time on the water.

The Topwater Series is home to the Tracker! We have developed in house our own tournament scoring app that will allow us to save cost on scoring and pay that directly back to the Anglers! In 2022 alone we saved over $8000 in scoring fees! We are the only kayak tournament series in the country to have our own scoring application.
