O'Brien Park

In 1959 the county purchased 88 acres in North Tulsa County for $50,000 to build Northside County Park. It is the only Tulsa County Park in which land was purchased by the commissioners specifically to build a park. Northside County Park opened in 1962 to the public with only six concrete picnic tables. In 1966 the park was renamed to O’Brien Park in memory of District 1 Commissioner Frank O’Brien who made the park a reality.

Today, the park covers over 140 acres. It is best known for its baseball complex, recreation center, community garden and the only combined disc golf and ball golf course in Oklahoma.
