Tilles Center for the Performing Arts

Tilles Center is located on the LIU Post campus. The University is a private, independent college offering degree programs in the liberal arts and numerous professional areas.

Since its inaugural season in 1981, Tilles Center has served as the primary cultural resource for the campus and local community by promoting the appearance of professional companies, hosting many of Long Island's major performing arts organizations and presenting performances, lectures and conferences organized by the student body and campus community. It has also hosted countless youth dance competitions.

The theatre seats 2,214 with excellent sight lines and acoustics at all seat locations. In addition to its function as a concert hall, the stage is equipped with an orchestra pit, suitable flooring, a computerized lighting system, masking and a limited rigging system to accommodate dance, opera and theatrical productions. A large movie screen and projection equipment for showing movies and slides are also available.

The center is also home to the 506-seat Krasnoff Theater which is ideal for jazz, chamber music, lectures and small theatrical productions.
