The 2026 Berkley Team Series District 3 Championship is a two-day bass fishing tournament for eligible teams from South Carolina divisions, taking place October 2–3, 2026, on Lake Murray. Hosted by Experience Columbia SC Sports, the event launches from Dreher Island State Park, 3677 State Park Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 and permits fishing on public waters accessible by boat from the tournament launch site, subject to designated off-limits areas. Teams must attend the mandatory October 1 meeting at Chapin Christian Community Church, 415 Lexington Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036, where registration, dinner, flight assignments, and fishing times will be provided.

Melvin Park, one of five parks operated by the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission, opened in March 2017. The park is named in honor of longtime Chapin resident Brinkley Melvin’s parents, Henry and Harriett Melvin, who taught their off spring to love sports and to always champion underdogs.
