Mediapolis has completed a new $2,500,000 aquatic facility that opened July 15, 2008. This state-of-the-art facility features a 6600 sq. ft. swimming area with a 168-foot waterside, a catamaran slide for the younger children, and a zero-depth entrance into the pool. The Olympic-size deep area features five lanes for competitive and lap swimming.
Unlike the old pool, there is a large area around the perimeter of the pool for natural grass. Five 20 foot umbrellas and numerous picnic tables are in place around the pool. The concessions area has been expanded to allow for a more complete menu. A complete area lighting system and public address system is also in place for night swims and parties.
The bathhouse, built-in 1932, has been moved to the new facility. This unique building serves as a reminder of the successful pools in the past. This bathhouse served the original pool from 1932 to 1941. The pool and bathhouse were completely renovated in 1969 and served through 2007.
