Opened in 1993, the Gangelhoff Center, home of the Concordia University Golden Bears, is one of the busiest venues in the Twin Cities. The home court for the volleyball and basketball teams, Gangelhoff Center has 1,500 permanent seats but can expand its capacity to handle approximately 4,000 fans for an event.
Gangelhoff Center celebrated its 15th year by hosting the 2008 NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships, with the Golden Bears winning the title on their home floor in front of a standing room only crowd full of current students, faculty/staff, alumni, friends and family. Gangelhoff Center had the rare chance to host a second-consecutive NCAA Championship the following year, 2009, with Concordia keeping the title at home once again - their third of an NCAA Volleyball (all divisions) seven straight championships (2007-14).
