This golf course is a stunning example of a golf course designed from the early part of the 20th century. Saukie was built in 1927 (opened in 1928) and designed by Thomas Bendelow. This public course is considered to be an “executive length" course and is a classic example of a short course that will challenge every golfer.

Across the river, Rock Island and Moline round out the visitor experience with the Figge Art Museum, the John Deere Pavilion (a nod to the region's agricultural-equipment heritage), and the Rock Island Arsenal, one of the largest government-owned weapons manufacturing arsenals in the country, set on its own island in the Mississippi. The Quad Cities' minor-league ballpark, Modern Woodmen Park, sits along the riverfront in Davenport and is a classic stop for families looking for an evening out.

For visiting tournament families, the region is compact and easy to navigate by car, with most attractions, restaurants, and hotels clustered within a 15–20 minute drive of Bettendorf regardless of which side of the river you're on. It's an unpretentious, family-friendly destination — good food, river views, and enough kid-friendly attractions to fill the hours around competition without needing to venture far.
