About Turkey Mountain / The Rock Yard

Rising above the west bank of the Arkansas River, River Parks’ Turkey Mountain is an untamed oasis in the heart of the city. Encompassing over 750 rugged acres, the park’s thick canopy of native trees watch over winding trails, serene ponds and ancient boulders. Secured to remain a public park in perpetuity, the Wilderness is a one-of-a-kind regional destination that continues to grow in popularity. Turkey Mountain is Tulsa's top destination for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking.

The Rock Yard Bike Park is a first of its kind for Oklahoma. Three acres of hillside at Turkey Mountain has been converted to dirt jumps specifically for mountain bikes. Two “Stone River Forts” or hubs where the jump trails begin rise out of the tree line above the Arkansas River. From those hub, six trails descend 80-90 feet with numerous jumps, bridges, wall rides, drops, and large jump gaps that do not exist in such frequency and magnitude anywhere else in Oklahoma. The Bike Park was designed to complement the other trails at Turkey Mountain and range from intermediate difficulty to expert to help riders advance their skill and fitness levels. Beginner riders should start at the Skyline Jumps or Bomb Cellar areas of Turkey Mountain before attempting the Rock Yard.
