Alabaster Municipal Park

Located between Thompson Middle School and Thompson Intermediate School, Alabaster Municipal Park is a premier venue for sports events, family gatherings, and community activities. This expansive park offers a wide range of amenities, making it the ideal location for events of all kinds in Shelby County.

The park features 4 lighted tennis courts, perfect for tournaments and casual play, and 3 lighted basketball courts (1 full court and 2 half courts) to accommodate both recreational and competitive games. 12 lighted soccer fields are available, including specialized fields for different age groups, from U6 to U13+, as well as a lighted practice field for training and warm-ups.

For event organizers, the park provides two rentable pavilions—one with 6 picnic tables and another with 9 picnic tables—ideal for hosting outdoor events, family reunions, or team picnics. Additionally, 10 free-standing picnic tables are available under shade trees on a first-come, first-serve basis at no charge. The park also features a playground, restrooms with water fountains, and ample parking, ensuring a comfortable experience for all visitors.

While the park is pet-friendly for visitors outside athletic facilities, please note that dogs are not allowed past the entrance gates of any athletic areas.
