At the crux of the UTD facilities is the UTD Activity Center, a multi-million dollar all-purpose building that was completed in 1999. The Activity Center includes a 3,200-seat gymnasium, a 4,000-foot fitness center, an auxiliary gym, a 25-yard indoor pool, racquetball and squash courts, locker rooms, and training facilities available for all of UTD's 13 athletic programs. The gymnasium houses the men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball teams during their respective seasons, while the UTD Athletics Department offices are found at the west entrance of the building. During the summer of 2016, the gym floor got a new modern re-design. The Activity Center has hosted multiple American Southwest Conference championship events, including American Southwest Conference Volleyball and Men's Basketball Championship Tournaments multiple time, as well as NCAA Division III National Tournament games. The Activity Center is also utilized for non-departmental purposes, including Career Fairs and Commencement.
