Greilick Outdoor Recreation & Education Center

Greilick Outdoor Recreation & Education Center (GO•REC) offers 500 wooded, lakeside acres in the midst of the Great Lakes Basin and multiple outdoor destinations... and we achieve social good through outdoor education. Here you can freely fish the lakes, watch wildlife, and hike or mountain bike six miles of trails. You can rent campsites to pitch your tent, experience our tree tents, stay in our cottages, or bunkhouses.

More than all that, you can learn something while having fun. We host events like hammock movie nights and workshops like orienteering (for when your phone dies!). We offer definitive training of the outdoor industry like paddlesports facilitation by the American Canoe Association. We are a “remote” experience, but we're only 10 miles from downtown Traverse City. We offer you a controlled environment where you can find space to grow, take off your training wheels to the backcountry, and level up in the great outdoors.
