The Riverside Sports Commission sets a new standard for collaboration, working with major sports associations to ensure unparalleled event success.  Working closely with Riverside’s sports venues, experienced local organizing committees, diverse hotel leadership, and friendly downtown merchants, the Commission has attracted major regional, state, national and international sporting competitions to Riverside.  More importantly, the Commission’s commitment to excellence and unique collaborative efforts have consistently resulted in sports groups eager to return to Riverside for their next event.

Excellence in sports is nothing new to Riverside, having produced some of the world’s most accomplished athletes, including basketball legend Reggie Miller and NBA Champion and MVP Kawhai Leonard; Olympic Gold Medalist in track and field, Joanna Hayes; World Series Champion pitcher Troy Percival, as well as baseball greats Bobby and Barry Bonds and Dusty Baker; championship swimmers Olympic Gold Medalist Tyler Clary and Olympic Silver Medalist and World Champion Medalist Sippy Woodhead; NFL Hall of Famer and Motorsport Hall of Famer Les Richter; and MMA Champion Fighter Rhonda Rousey.
