Indianapolis will host the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming in June 2024. For the first time ever, the event will be staged on a football field, as Lucas Oil Stadium is tapped to host the nine-day Olympic-qualifying meet in front of hundreds of thousands of families, friends and fans. 

Held every four years, the Olympic Trials rank as the most prestigious swimming event in the United States. The 2024 Olympic Trials will serve as the sole selection meet for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team, which will represent Team USA in the pool competition in Paris, France. While Indianapolis last hosted the swimming Trials in 2000, 2024 will mark the 100-year anniversary since Indianapolis hosted the Olympic Swimming Trials for the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris.

2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Swimming

The city of Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium will play host to the 15th annual Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 7, 2024. The champion of the East Division will be the designated home team for this year's contest and will face the champion of the West Division. Kickoff for the game is set at 8 PM ET. The winner will earn the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to play in one of the six bowls that comprise the College Football Playoff, including the Rose Bowl Game.

2024 Big Ten Football Championship Game

Indiana Sports Corp will host the 2025 Midwest Regional of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. The regional games will be players March 27th through the 30th, 2025. 

These rounds are called the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight in March Madness terms. Since 1979, Indiana Sports Corp has hosted several different rounds of the NCAA Basketball Championship. Most notably Indianapolis has hosted eight Men's Final Fours (1980,1991,1997, 2000, 2006, 2010, 2015, 2020).

2025 Division I Men's Basketball Tournament - Midwest Regional

The 2026 Men’s Final Four is scheduled for April 4 and 6, 2026 at Lucas Oil Stadium, and will be the city’s ninth Men’s Final Four. Indianapolis will host its eighth Men’s Final Four in April of 2021. 

Indianapolis previously hosted the Men’s Final Four in 1980 (Market Square Arena); 1991, 1997, 2000, and 2006 at the RCA Dome; and 2010 and 2015 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The 2015 Men’s Final Four set several attendance and viewership records. The two-session Final Four attendance totaled 143,387, the highest ever for Lucas Oil Stadium. The Turner Sports exclusive presentation of the national semifinals across TBS, TNT and truTV grossed 16.4 million total viewers while the Kentucky-Wisconsin game became the most-viewed college basketball game of all time on a cable television network. In addition, a record-breaking 2,069 media credentials were issued and more than 76,832 people attended Final Four Fan Fest, which set an all-time record.

The 2021 Men’s Final Four will mark the 24th time since 1940 that the men’s basketball championship has come to Indianapolis. Indianapolis has also been the host for an NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional on five occasions (1940, 1979, 2009, 2013 and 2014) with the Regional returning in 2020. The city hosted first and second round competition in 1978, 1982, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1996, 2003, 2005 and most recently in 2017 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Women’s Final Four has also been held in Indianapolis three times (2005, 2011 and 2016).

2026 NCAA Men's Final Four

Indianapolis has been selected to host the 2029 NCAA Men’s Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium as announced by the NCAA earlier this afternoon. The 2029 Men’s Final Four is scheduled for March 31 and April 2, and will be the city’s 10th time hosting the event.

Indiana Sports Corp will partner with NCAA Host Institutions - Horizon League and IUPUI - for the 2026 and 2029 Men’s Final Fours in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis previously hosted the Men’s Final Four in 1980 (Market Square Arena); 1991, 1997, 2000, and 2006 at the RCA Dome; and 2010 and 2015 at Lucas Oil Stadium. In addition, the city hosted the entirety of March Madness in 2021 at six venues in Indiana including Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, Mackey Arena, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and Lucas Oil Stadium.

The 2026 Men’s Final Four will mark the 27th time since 1940 that the men’s basketball championship has come to Indianapolis. Indianapolis has also been the host for an NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional on five occasions (1940, 1979, 2009, 2013 and 2014) with the Midwest Regional returning in 2025. The city hosted first and second round competition in 1978, 1982, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1996, 2003, 2005, 2017, and most recently in 2022 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The First and Second Rounds return to Indianapolis and Gainbridge Fieldhouse in 2024 in addition to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) in 2024 at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Other cities receiving Men’s Final Fours include Detroit (2027), Las Vegas (2028), and North Texas (2030).

2029 NCAA Men's Final Four

Lucas Oil Stadium is a state-of-the-art retractable roof, multi-purpose facility seating over 67,000 fans while featuring spectacular views of the downtown Indianapolis skyline. Opened in 2008 as the new home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, this facility already boasts an impressive resume having been named the 2009 Sports Facility of the Year by Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal and having their Fieldturf surface ranked as the NFL’s best artificial surface in both 2009 and 2010. 

LUCAS OIL PLAZA: Approximately 30,000 square feet of WOW! That‘s what you’ll say when you see it for the first time. Lucas Oil Plaza is located on the north end of street level. It is best suited for banquet style dinners and receptions, finished with a décor to match the building’s namesake, Lucas Oil. It offers access to meeting rooms located on event level via elevator, escalator, and stairs. Lucas Oil Plaza comes outfitted with access to electricity and has a horseshoe shaped stage in the center, which can be used by entertainment, or for a speaker. 

BUD LIGHT PARTY ZONE: Placed at the foot of the “picture window”, the Bud Light Party Zone is located on the north end of Terrace Level and has the best view in the house. It is 12,500 square feet of an incredible view of downtown on one side, and the field on the other. It is the perfect spot for a cocktail reception or just a sports bar style hangout.
