Desert Outdoor Center at Lake Pleasant

Welcome to The Desert Outdoor Center. Our mission is to offer quality programs and facilities that provide opportunities in a natural environment for education, recreation, and inspiration.

Teachers and educators from across the state can schedule a field trip to immerse their students in the beautiful Sonoran Desert environment. Over 30 ranger-led programs are offered for day or overnight visits, subjects ranging from reptiles to survival and archaeology to alternative energy. (25 person minimum; 150 person maximum).

In addition to environmental education, visitors may also take advantage of the spectacular views of the surrounding lake and mountains by reserving the 26,000 sq. ft. facility for weddings, retreats, and other group functions. Entry to this facility is restricted to reservations only, except for designated public events, including stargazing and guided hikes along the barrier-free trail.
