There are two destinations here: the Poerio Park Nature Center and the Poerio Park Sports Complex. The nature center is near 20th Avenue and 16th Street, behind Bose School. There is a wooded nature area for hikers, as well as an open air pavilion, playground, and fishing (north pond).

The sports complex part of the park, at 1401 16th Avenue, has four baseball/softball fields. Tournaments are often held here.
