About Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track

Located just steps away from iconic Penn State landmarks such as the BJC and Beaver Stadium, the Multi Sport Facility serves a wide range of purposes. With its ample square footage, the building can host numerous sporting events and activities. Inside, you'll find a 200-meter polyurethane track with sprint lanes at its center, basketball courts, turf areas, locker rooms, a training room, and a well-equipped weight room. The Multisport Facility caters to the diverse needs of athletes and competitors.

For spectators, there are 800 permanent seats available, with the option to provide more as needed. The facility also features dual long/triple jump and pole vault runways.

Both Penn State men’s and women’s track and field teams, along with cross country teams, use the Multi Sport Facility for practice and competition.

Beyond the facility's walls, you'll discover the outdoor Nittany Lion Track, known for its exceptional layout. This 400-meter tartan-surfaced track serves as Penn State's primary outdoor track. It boasts 9 lanes, including a 6-foot warm-up lane. Additionally, designated areas for pole vault, long jump, triple jump, and a steeplechase water jump are easily accessible. Other field provisions encompass two high jump pits and dedicated spaces for javelin, shot put, hammer, and discus events.
