Located along Chester Creek in Duluth’s East Hillside, Chester Park was first established below today’s Skyline Parkway in 1891. In 1920 it expanded above the parkway with land purchased by the Duluth Ski Club, who used the facility for ski jumping tournaments from 1906 to 2005. 

The Chester Bowl Improvement Club operates an alpine ski hill in the park, and cross country trails are maintained in the winter. During the summer visitors enjoy the playground equipment, picnic facilities, miles of hiking trails, and a sports field.
