Hickory Meadows

This 112-acre park offers miles of unpaved hiking paths, which transition to cross-county skiing and snowshoeing opportunities in the winter. The paths wander over hills, across meadows, and through woodlands. The park is next door to the city-owned Hickory Hills Ski Area.

Hickory Meadows is owned by the City of Traverse City and Charter Township of Garfield Recreational Authority, with management assistance from the Grand Traverse Conservation District (231-941-0960 or info@gtcd.org). The park is one of three properties that were purchased via a millage overwhelmingly approved by Garfield Township and Traverse City voters in 2004, and is dedicated in perpetuity to viewshed preservation and passive recreational activities such as hiking and nature watching.
