Athletics at Boys' Latin is about setting goals, challenging yourself, overcoming obstacles and understanding the value of resilience and hard work.

Playing and competing with character is at the core of our program. Whether you’re playing kickball in lower school or in a championship game as a varsity athlete you will embody the qualities of sportsmanship, teamwork, respect and leadership. As a student-athlete, you will have the opportunity to compete at the highest level. We have a history of fielding winning teams as members of the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association, one of the most competitive leagues in the country. You will experience the joy of athletic competition and you will learn the value of grit and perseverance. 

Widely considered to be among the finest in the region, our athletic facilities serve the entire School for physical education classes and School-wide events, as well as team sports and all kinds of athletic competitions.

As a lower and middle school student, you will use the Joseph A. W. Iglehart ‘10 Center on our south campus. This facility was renovated in 2010. The Hugh E. Gelston ‘56 Athletic Center on the north campus is our main gymnasium and is used for volleyball and basketball. Here you will also find a fitness room, training room and multiple locker rooms. Football and lacrosse are played on the lower of our two Astroturf fields, with the upper field being the soccer pitch. You will find the Paul Iglehart Baseball Field behind the middle school on our south campus, where there are also grass practice fields.
