Located along the north bank of Willow Creek, MacNider Woods is a 28-acre wooded park. The lime-chipped multipurpose trail runs beside Willow Creek, connects to Parker’s Woods and continues to the Downtown District.

Mason City is also home to Prairie School Architecture with several buildings in the community designed by Frank Lloyd Wright including the only remaining hotel in the world designed by Wright.The largest collection of Bil Baird’s puppets can also be seen in Mason City.
