Lord Beaverbrook Rink

The LBR was built in 1960 by Lord Beaverbrook and was subsequently donated to the City of Saint John after its completion. The rink operates year-round – the fall/winter season with ice and the spring/summer with arena floor rentals. With seating for upwards of 2000 people, the LBR is centrally located on Main Street in the City’s North End. It sits conveniently between two major hotels and features street level access, free parking, several large dressing rooms, a canteen as well as a lounge/conference room.

During the regular ice season from October to March, the LBR plays host to high school hockey games, a NBJHL team as well as many minor level teams. When the ice is taken out of the rink from April to September, ball hockey action can be seen on most evenings. In addition to ice and floor rentals, the LBR also serves as a facility for a wide variety of other events such as Concerts, Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts, Wrestling, Roller Derby, Circus Shows, Trade Shows, Markets and more!
