About Muhlenberg College

Scotty Wood Stadium, Frank Marino Field
The multipurpose stadium includes a playing field resurfaced with AstroTurf GameDay Grass 3D in 2008, an eight-lane all-weather track resurfaced in 2014, bleacher seating for 3,000, lighting and a scoreboard and press box. The facility, the first of its kind in the Lehigh Valley, is home to the Mule field hockey, football, lacrosse and outdoor track teams.

Memorial Hall
Memorial Hall fosters a big-game atmosphere hard to match in Division III. Although it is more than 50 years old, Memorial Hall remains a thoroughly modern facility. Recent improvements have included the addition of an overhead scoreboard and the 2004 repainting of the floor. A new lighting system was installed in 2010, and the walls and bleachers were painted in 2011, giving Memorial Hall a brighter look. Memorial Hall annually hosts the Scotty Wood Tournament in basketball and the Buttermaker Tournament in volleyball. It also was the site for the 2005 Centennial Conference Wrestling Championships.

The John Deitrich Field House was constructed in 1982 and refurbished in 2004 and 2014. The spacious field house hosts tennis matches when weather precludes outdoor play and is the winter home of the track and field teams. The facility serves as a secondary practice area for all Muhlenberg teams. A netting system enables multiple teams to practice safely at the same time. In the summer of 2014, the entire field house floor was resurfaced with state of the art full pour BSS 1000 Hobart texture IAAF certified 13mm track surface.

Kern Field Courts
The Muhlenberg College tennis teams play their outdoor home matches on the courts at Kern Field. The six lighted courts, located in a picturesque campus setting, were constructed on the site of a former grass practice field during the summer and fall of 2003. The were repainted in US Open-style blue and green in the summer of 2009.

Varsity Field has been the home of the Muhlenberg College soccer teams since the inception of the men's program in 1943. Varsity Field has hosted numerous NCAA Tournament matches over the years.

The softball field was built in the spring and summer of 2004. The entire field is enclosed with fencing that gives proper softball dimensions of 200 feet down the lines and 225 feet to dead center, which offer some excitement for the long-ball hitters. The red windscreens add the cardinal touch to the field, and the dugout color scheme fits the Mule logos just right. The field was equipped with an electronic scoreboard beyond the leftfield fence in 2007.

Across the path is a field the baseball team has called home since 1997. With dimensions of 340 down the lines, 390 to the power alleys and 410 to straightaway center, Cedarcreek Field is a good pitcher’s park, but it also favors gap hitters, who can find plenty of room in the spacious outfield. On days when the wind blows out, the fences will seem not so far away to power hitters. The field has undergone numerous improvements over the past several years, including moving the backstop back, installing an electronic scoreboard, adding a second batting cage and leveling the playing surface.
