About Dryden Park

The majority of Dryden Park was donated by John and Helen Dryden on September 18, 1924. Mr. Dryden, was originally the owner of a stage line that connected Kearney, Loup City and New Helena. Additional lots were purchased in 1940 and 1954. Dryden is a neighborhood park with a variety of amenities and large, stately trees. The park is home to the University of Nebraska-Kearney Women's Softball team. in 2015, a splash pad was added, along with playground upgrades and a perimeter walking path.
