In 1966, Fairground Park was then made into a reality with the help of Hutchinson Jaycees donation. This park had it's own swimming pool that was open to the public, and had a space themed playground. Now it has a splash pad, newer and safer playground, and updated tennis courts.
For a refreshing way to enjoy hot summer days, Hutchinson operates three interactive water parks open to the public. They are provided free of charge.
All of the parks are open Memorial Day through mid-August.
Fairgrounds Water Park is located near the Kansas State Fairgrounds. The water park entrance is on Severance Street between 17th and 23rd.
