The Shasta District Fair & Events Center owns and operates the only paved race track in Shasta County featuring stock car racing and grandstands that seat 3,000 people. In 2005 it was reconfigured to 0.375-miles from its original length of 0.25-miles. Shasta Speedway has held NASCAR K&N Pro Series West events for many decades.

With mountains all around, miles of hiking and biking trails, a river running through it, and national parks nearby, Redding is an outdoor paradise for young and old alike. This 129-foot gusher is considered one of the most beautiful in the state.
