The Ashton Gardens is a botanical oasis in the Utah desert. Featuring 50 acres of stately gardens, grand lawns, and the largest manmade waterfall in America, the Gardens offer opportunities to reflect and rejuvenate in the wonders of the natural world.

The gardens are organized like rooms, with trees, shrubs, and grasses serving as living barriers between the 17 themed spaces. This summer, a prehistoric adventure comes to life at the Ashton Gardens. Year-round adventure awaits - golf, hike, bike, camp, horseback ride, snowmobile, cross-country ski, and snowshoe at Wasatch Mountain. During warmer months, reserve a tee time at the popular Lake and Mountain golf courses. In winter, ski or snowmobile through the alpine terrain.

Wasatch Mountain State Park

Travel back in time and explore what life was like over 65 million years ago in the Museum of Ancient Life! With 60 complete dinosaur skeletons, this museum has one of the world’s largest displays of mounted dinosaurs. More than 50 hands-on exhibits, like the Erosion Table and the Quarry Dig, make interacting with pre-history easier than ever before. You can even watch our paleontologists and volunteers unearth a 150-million-year-old Barosaurus. Whether you come by day or by night, the Museum of Ancient Life is a lively adventure that you’ll never forget.

The amazing Eremotherium laurillardi, more commonly known as the Giant Ground Sloth, is now on display at the Museum of Ancient Life! This specimen was discovered alongside two other Giant Ground Sloths in 1975 in Daytona, Florida. After nearly 40 years of investigation, preparation, and sorting, this herbivore will be on display in the lobby of the Museum of Ancient Life until 2024.

Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life

More than 400 hands-on exhibits make the Museum of Natural Curiosity one of the most interactive museums in the state. Explore Rainforest and Kidopolis, where hidden treasures and secret passageways challenge the adventurous and engage the young at heart. Science and nature come alive in the Discovery Garden and in Water Works, where interacting with wind, water, and earth will expand your understanding of the natural world. Learn about the history of flight, navigation, and exploration. With stations where individuals can design and construct their own plane or rocket and an interactive maze with aviation facts, NASA history, and puzzles, you won't want to miss this!

See the museum from above with a Canopy Tour! This high-ropes course is suspended over 40 feet in the air and is a great challenge.

Museum of Natural Curiosity

1.0 mi/1.6 km loop — From northbound I-15 take exit 332. Follow the frontage road to the intersection of Main and Gentile Street. Turn west on Gentile street, then south on 3200 West which turns into a dirt road. The visitors center is at the end of the dirt road.The hike follows the handicapped-accessible boardwalk at a 4,000-acre nature preserve. 34 interpretive exhibits along the boardwalk and a 30-foot viewing tower help visitors understand the unique ecosystem of the preserve and its importance along the north/south migration route. Visitors are asked to stay on the boardwalk to preserve the integrity of the wetlands for nesting and migrating birds.

Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve

Jordanelle State Park is located in a picturesque mountain setting near Heber City. The park offers an array of recreation opportunities near the Wasatch Front. Camping, boating, swimming, fishing, and hiking are some of the activities to do at this very popular park. Anglers fish for trout, bass, and perch. The park offers two recreation areas, Hailstone and Rock Cliff. Hailstone is a large developed campground and day-use area on the west side of the reservoir, and is a favorite location of boaters and RV campers. Many of our campsites offer water and electric hook-ups.

Jordanelle State Park

The Fairmont Aquatic Center features a leisure pool containing a water slide, current channel, vortex, zero-depth entry and interactive play features; an 80 lane 25-yard swimming/lap pool; activity room and locker rooms.
