Our strategy is to give you the assistance you need to host a successful sporting event in Jefferson City, Missouri. We have the competitive edge when it comes to sports planning. Our staff offers you an extensive range of services to ensure your sporting event is a success and enjoyed by all. We offer pre-planning as well as assistance with registration, media relations and other marketing or promotional services. We also have a group of devoted athletic supporters here to ensure a win for your event.

In order to attract a wide variety of sporting event opportunities to the Capital City, the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau created a support group – the Athletic Events Committee (AEC). The AEC is an invaluable group of local residents that volunteer their time and energy for signature sporting events such as Missouri State High School Activities Association Track and Field and Cross Country Championships.

Jefferson City also hosts numerous baseball and softball tournaments, the Capital City Summer Hoops Classic, disc golf and soccer tournaments. With the increasing popularity of fun runs and 5ks, several of these events have also planted their roots in Jefferson City including the annual Prison Break Race, uniquely themed from the infamous decommissioned Missouri State Penitentiary.

Centrally located on both state and national maps, Jefferson City is a convenient destination for sports participants and fans. The beauty of our city, home to Missouri’s capital, is enhanced by the splendid backdrop of the winding Missouri River. With a population of over 40,000, we offer a full range of restaurant selections and approximately 1,400 rooms provided by area hotels. Although sporting events can be demanding of your time, we encourage you to take a break and visit the numerous historical attractions, enticing shops, and beautiful parks Jefferson City has to offer.
