About BMX, Cycling, and Skating Trails

Bringing a cycling event to Redding is easy– the venues are fresh, ready and waiting. There are 225 miles of trails within a 15-mile radius of downtown Redding. The famed Sacramento River National Recreation Trail earned the distinction as the“gem of the U.S.trail system” from the San Francisco Chronicle. The variety of trails encompassed by beauty makes Redding so incredibly unique that the SF Chronicle also said Redding is “California’s secret mountain biking mecca.” Former Redding Mayor Brent Weaver was so proud that he offered the Mayor’s Mountain Bike Challenge for beginner, intermediate and expert riders to explore the beautiful and diverse back country and single-track trails that have year-round access. From flat paved rail trails to steep and rugged single tracks, the beautiful terrain delivers an adventure for all ages and skill levels. Redding also makes for great road cycling adventures. The Wildcat Gran Fondo uses our miles of road trails each year for its 15 to 123-mile race, giving cyclists the ability to ascend 500 to 11,000 feet in elevation. Whether you’re looking for easier paved paths or steep and rugged dirt trails for the more daring enthusiasts, Redding’s extensive trail system is waiting to be conquered. A new favorite trail and adventure could be waiting for you in Redding!
