The Sport Hosting Office (SHO) is a collaborative entity that combines the sport resources of Waterloo Region in one place to facilitate world-class event hosting services and support. Lead by the Director of Sport Hosting, the SHO  includes representation from municipal and post-secondary partners as well as Explore Waterloo Region and Regional Tourism Office 4 (RTO4).

Waterloo Region has decades of expertise in hosting high level sporting events. From local and regional games to large international sporting events – you are in excellent hands in Waterloo Region. Our seasoned team can help guide your event from its initial planning stages to when the final buzzer sounds, no matter what the sport or level of competition.  

With an extensive library of sport venues, the assets and resources of multiple cities, and a team of sport hosting leaders providing expertise in everything from bidding, event hosting, and media/marketing – the SHO is your connection to Waterloo Region’s sport and event stakeholders.
