Ridge Club Bistro

Opened in 1965, Carson Valley Golf Course was designed by a local architect, Red Swift.  He had a great vision when he developed the golf course and originally it included the Carson Valley Country Club restaurant, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. All very nice for 1965!  Red Swift was also the original developer of the neighboring area that is known as the Ranchos and is today home for many people living in Gardnerville.

During the early 1970s, the golf course and restaurant became separate businesses. We are Carson Valley Golf Course and the restaurant next door is Carson Valley Country Club.  This has caused some confusion over the years as we are totally separate businesses but good neighbors.  

In 2001, the current owners' Tom & Manya Brooks purchased the golf course from Tom's parents who had owned the course since 1986.  The award-winning golf course continues to rate as 'the local's favorite' and is open to the public for golf year-round.
