One of the Duke University baseball team homes is picturesque Jack Coombs Field, built in 1931. With a seating capacity of 2,000, the left field wall stands 325 feet from home plate while the left field power alley stands 370 feet away and center field is an even 400 feet from the plate. Right-center has deepened to 375 feet while right field has also been pushed back slightly to 335 feet. Jack Coombs Field is a scenic venue enclosed by trees and hills. A tree-lined view sits behind the outfield wall, and a natural hill sits along the first base line for additional fan seating.
