About Rickwood Field

Rickwood Field, located in Birmingham, Alabama, is the oldest professional baseball park in the United States. It was built for the Birmingham Barons in 1910 by industrialist and team-owner Rick Woodward and served as the home park for the Birmingham Barons and the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro leagues. The park underwent a renovation to prepare it for an MLB game in 2024, with key changes including a new playing surface, expanded dugouts, and safety upgrades. The renovations also included an upgraded lighting system, an LED videoboard. The 2025 MLB East-West Classic will be played at Rickwood Field on Juneteenth.
