Home arena for the Grand Rapids Griffins (minor-league affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings), Grand Rapids Rise (Pro Volleyball Federation), and the Grand Rapids Gold (G League Denver Nuggets affiliate).

Van Andel Arena has hosted events such as MHSAA (state high school association) basketball and wrestling finals, concerts, NCAA Hockey, NCAA Basketball, etc.
