Harvey Park

Harvey Park is heavily utilized park especially by softball, tennis, and soccer enthusiasts. This park, located just south of the Kearney Cemetery, has ample open green space to accommodate a variety of activities. The tree-shaded playground on the west side of the park is a popular spot to have some family fun.

Funding from the Community Development Act was acquired to make this park a reality. The park was named in honor of the Harvey family for their work within the Park & Recreation Department. James K. Harvey worked for the Parks Division for 36 years. Upon his retirement in 1968 his son, James E. Harvey took over the position.
