Moravian College

The Athletics and Recreation Center, which is composed of two main buildings - Johnston Hall (1952) and the Timothy Breidegam Field House (1991) - houses playing areas for varsity basketball and volleyball. Johnston Hall is the main campus athletics building, housing the varsity basketball court (seating capacity 1,600), a racquetball court, a classroom, a training room, and coaches' offices.

Blue & Grey Field(softball diamond) has seen a vast number of improvements, first with the installation of permanent dugouts and a batting cage, to permanent fences down the foul lines and new sod. Prior to the 2006 season, a six-foot permanent outfield fence was installed to enclose the playing area and a warning track was installed inside the fence around the entire park. Also, more seating was added and new major-league style benches were mounted in the dugouts.

The Breidegam Field House includes a four-lane indoor track with very gradual turns as well as jumping and vaulting areas, and expanded areas for a weight training room, a dance and aerobics studio, an equipment room, and office space. The interior floor space of both buildings can accommodate a total of seven basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, as well as indoor baseball and softball practices, and a variety of intramural sports.

The Rocco Calvo Field was renovated in 2005. The old playing surface was replaced with a synthetic surface produce by Sportexe. Sportexe Momentum™ is designed to be dense, firm, fast -- a superior surface to handle the demands of top level athletics. There were also renovations to the structure of the grandstand with new seating added on both the home and visitor sides of the field.

The fully-enclosed Gillespie Baseball Field measures 328 feet down the left field line, 331 feet down the right field line and 401 feet to dead center field and is equipped with home and visitor dugouts as well as an off-the-field bullpen. The program has begun improvements to the facility with a new backstop with pro-style mesh netting added in 2010, a new seven-foot outfield fence with slats and a safety cap installed in 2007 & 2008, a batting cage beyond the centerfield fence and a storage area in the first base dugout.

The tennis teams play on the six-court Hoffman Tennis Courts that are located just off of Center Street.

John Makuvek Field replaced the Haupert Union Quadrangle field during the summer of 2016 as Moravian College converted the natural grass surface to synthetic turf. The new complex also includes lights for evening contests and practices as well as a press box. The field is nestled in the center of the Main Street campus is the home to both the field hockey, men's and women's lacrosse and men's and woman's soccer teams as well as a wide variety of intramural sports and other activities.

The Betty Prince Field, adjacent to the Breidegam Fieldhouse, is the former home field of the field hockey team. The team moved to the new John Makuvek Field in 2016. Betty Prince Field, which contains an underground sprinkler system and an electronic scoreboard, will still be used for practices and intramurals.
