Big Marsh Bicycle Park and Natural Area

Big Marsh contains multi-use trails for hikers, birders and cyclists of all ages, with paved and crushed gravel trails for easy walking or riding. For off- road cyclists, Big Marsh has over $1 million in built features, with more on the way. Current offerings include easy, medium and expert jump lines for BMX freestyle riders; a pump track for BMX, Mountain Bikes, and freeride or dirt jump bikes; single-track features including ramps, jumps, sand pits and banked turns for training and enjoyment by all types of riders; and a UCI- legal cyclocross course including Belgian steps and gravity features.

Nature lovers and birders can access the entire 297 acres of the park by foot and may see species such as Bald Eagles, Turkey Vultures, Red-winged blackbirds and Blue Herons.

Currently there are three portable unisex restroom units on site and no concession stands. The Ford Calumet Environmental Center is scheduled to be constructed in 2019 and will include classrooms, running water, restroom facilities, concessions, bike repair and event space.
